LOL… yeah.. OMG!!

I feel a bit weird because it’s been really quite awhile since I wrote a decent post here. I actually don’t know how or where to start. A lot of things have happened and maybe some of you knows what’s going on in our lives. Thanks to facebook (and twitter).

To sum up the almost 3 months of being hiatus online — well
** BUSY BUSY BUSY
** it was all about AZUMI — her new journey
** I had to quit my job to give more time and attention to my lil girl since she’ll be attending school (which started on the first week of October)
** Azumi’s 3rd birthday
** … and a lot more

NONETHELESS…
I will try to catch up and be a good blogger I used to be.

Awww where have the days gone by… My little girl has turned 3 years old 3 weeks ago and is now officially a preschooler who goes to her very own “drop-off” school, learning new things without me and making new friends all on her own.

I have to admit that I’m a little bit of wistful lately about the baby she used to be – that cute jolly chubby cheeks who has been with me 24/7, doing things together, trying to put her on an afternoon nap — that stage of life when I know every little thing she does.

AND yet, I’m much excited and happy at the same time about what she has become. We’ve gone so far in a year. I feel so blessed to have her.

I couldn’t be happier or more proud.

WOW it's been awhile as usual. I apologize for the delay of the announcement of my giveaway winners. I have been very busy with my work, Azumi's school meetings, and family affairs. Yeah, Azumi will officially become a pre-schooler on October that's why I have to quit the job that I have come to love so much. I'm excited and a bit sad because I'm gonna miss my co-workers. I'll blog about it next time. Hopefully, next month, I can go back to my normal blogging routine. I really miss blogging.

It’s been awhile since the last time I shared my simple cute food creations here. Last month, I bought few new bento tools that will make my little girl’s food more elaborate and appealing. I always marvel at Japanese moms who spend time and energy making one of a kind, artistic and cute food / bento for their child. I think it’s already a culture because based from some of my friends’ experiences when their kids were in Yochien (Japanese Kindergarten), though it isn’t really a mandatory to make a cute bento foods for your kid, their kids would ask them to make a cute bento food like the ones with their classmates.

Anyway, this is a Rice Mold Set which consists of 5 different shapes, making your food more adorable.

Bento Rice mold shaper ￥900~

Another healthy and cute food I prepared for my little Patootee, Azumi.

Vegetable soup
Fish sausage
Egg mixed Rice
Cherries
Pasta
Cucumber
Bacon

And here is the kid who was so happy with her meal…

ごちそうさまでした。

Happy food trip friday!

Here is another cuteness thrill　from Sanrio Store. Azumi personally picked this one and I obliged to buy it since she always does good in school.

Hello Kitty Mini Carry On Luggage (with 3 snack goodies inside)
￥2,100 ( almost ＄21 )
23 × 36 × 13 ｃｍ

Almost every week, we stop by the Sanrio Store because it is also located at the same floor where Azumi takes her weekly pre-school class. I usually buy her a drink, like Hello Kitty apple or grape juice or Green tea. Well, the store doesn’t only sells cute stuffs but also snacks and goodies too.

It has already became a routine for us that we go there before we leave the floor (coz it’s just beside the elevator lol). The staff already knows us and they’re kind enough to let Azumi play their sample toys.

I always think this store is strategically located since there is no way any little girl wouldn’t want to stop and look out through the store that is packed with Hello Kitty and cute stuffs before heading off to the floor’s elevator and/or escalator

I guess the place is more for the mom who wants to let her daughter pick out something Hello Kitty as a reward or just simply make their little girl smile.

photopick...

She carries it wherever lol

Question:

Do you think it’s a great idea to reward your kid for being good? OR never reward a child for something that is naturally expected of them?

Much

Japan gets very hot in the summer. There is a lot of humidity so I think it’s hotter than Philippines because there is barely a breeze to be felt.

One of the ways to tolerate the heat of Summer is eating cold dishes. I was delighted to see those freezer-pop things available in stores. They are so cute and come in many varieties and sizes, making it the perfect frozen treat for all ages.

Here are the cool Ice molds that I bought from Plaza

Ice case (￥300~)
Freeze Pop (￥525)

I remember when I was a kid, we used to buy ice candies and eat them while we play. I love the coconut and melon flavor. Sometimes, our caretaker, Apo Lisa would help me make our own ice candies in small plastic packs, usually in chocolate and orange flavors. I have lots of fun Ice candy memories when I was young.

SO Now,

it’s my turn to make Ice Candy memories to our kawaii princess, starting this year.

Honey bought this, melon flavored Sherbic (not sherbet). It’s so easy to make. Just put the powder in bowl, add 400ml water, or 300ml milk instead for creamier taste, shake and VIOLA! Fill in your cutie Ice mold / freeze pop mold. Freeze for approximately 3 hours

Sherbic available in groceries ￥100~ (forgot the exact price)

It may not be in a plastic packs but still the thrill of eating/licking a fruity sweety flavored ice cold candy on a sunny day is like being in an icy pop heaven.

Mmmmm YUMMY! おいしいい。。。。 It was my first time also.

There’s nothing like a fruity, icy treat to beat the heat even inside our temperature controlled home.

Question:

How do you beat the heat of summer in your place?

Finally, Azumi had her first movie experience last wednesday. Her Dad was kinda worried at first because she might just run around or get bored in the middle. BUT I'm glad she did well and seems to be enjoying the whole time. It was funny the moment we sat down in our chairs, she was amazed to see how big the screen was. She even said "look mama, HUMONGOUS tv" --- wow! HUMONGOUS?! I don't even use that word.

Well, thanks Sesame Street Podcast where Anzu learns some of her vocabularies. It's a little bargain that is downloadable through Itunes for free. It features Murray and other Sesame Street Muppets with Celebrity guests as they introduce kids to new vocabulary word at the beginning of each episode, focuses on building children's language and vocabulary skills. I must say it works perfectly for Anzu (and for me while I do the chores in the morning)

Anyway,

Because we want her "first movie" experience to be successful, we chose to watch the movie she'll surely love, ANPANMAN at Mycal Warner Cinemas inside the Aeon Mall. It's a 90 minute movie and the main character is the most popular here in Japan

Normally, children age 0-3 years old are free but since it's supposed to be a children's movie, kids are charged ￥900 while ￥1,800 for adults -- kinda expensive huh.

Yeah it happened some few weeks ago.

The mouse is doing something while the cat is away lol

These photos are actually retakes. I asked her to continue doing her nails at the table so I can candidly take photos of her. It’s so adorable. However, as cute as it may be I don’t think polish on nails at such a young age is a good idea. Nonetheless if you’re just using a washable non-toxic pen.

This is a big milestone and I was quite shocked coz I dont paint my nails. Where did she learned it from? Maybe she saw her Tita, or maybe we passed by a Nail Salon at the mall – i don’t know.

But one thing is for sure — this 2 year old little girl is AWARE so I must be more careful.

Wow it’s been a long time since I consistently made time for blogging. There have been alot going on while I was away that I couldn’t even find time to try my hand in front of my laptop. BUT all is well. I already have a job that I enjoy going to 3 times a week. We went on a roadtrips with my family. I had so much leisure time with my sister and lil Anzy. I had few romantic dates with my Hubby (thanks to my babysitter, but sad to say she went back home to Philippines ). Things are getting better except that I really need to improve my time management in order to catch up with my Mommy blogger friends.

I’m so into blogging.. now that I’m back with a fabulous, chic and girly template made by — hmm who else does a template like that? — Ms Kaye Mendez of Wahmaholic Blog Designs.
What can I say? This is really a drool-worthy creation. I honestly can’t say enough. This is actually ported from my previous blogger template but it looks much better here in wordpress.

Hands down!

My verdict?
Expectation Exceeded!

Thank you my dearie Kaye.

It’s so inspiring to blog with a cute template like this… A CUTENESS THRILL worth!

BTW, she’s having a One Week Birthday sale. You might wanna treat your blog with a make-over. Satisfaction guaranteed.

Just wanna a share this short clip of Anzu counting in Spanish (english and japanese) but kept on being destructed with the things she sees while we are driving our way home.

Counting In English and Spanish part 1
I didn't mean to teach her spanish language but she learns it from TV, as she enjoys watching Dora The Explorer. I appreciate that Dora is trying to teach kids another language which is good since we want Azumi to be a multi-ligual child.

As of now, we are consistent in raising her to be an English-Japanese bilingual child and eventually teach her Tagalog. My husband likes the idea of learning the english language right along with our little girl. I speak to her only English while Hubby talks to her in Japanese but sometimes switches between the two tongues lol (since he's also learning english).

Right now she is getting a good foundation for English which she will need in communicating with our (my) family who doesn't speak in Japanese. Some of my oldies here are worried that our daughter might have a language confusion.

Hmmm I heard people say that the best time to introduce another language to a child is while they are babies.

What do you think? Thoughts and opinions about raising a bilingual/multilingual child are very much welcome :)
Much
